Hello to Everyone. First, kudos to the Founders of this site - talk about bringing a great idea to life... I'm new to 32 and so far impressed with the members I've encountered in the various categories. It's easy to see that you all are working hard to build careers, network with like-minded creatives, and are willing to check out any path which may lead to the 'holy land'...I wish you all the very best in your endeavor. I love music and have been inspired by it ever since I can remember. I started a music production company few years back and we've had the good fortune of getting some of our work into prime-time network shows as well as some super-cool cable programs. We're still very hungry though and far from 'resting' on any laurels...And since we're locked up in darkened studios for half our lives, 32 provides an opportunity to kibitz with others and see what's going on out there... Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible, listening to your stories and checking out your work.
Thanks Dean, I'll pass the kudos along. :) That's a good intro you've got there. I read your bio as well, placements in The Office, Hawaii FIve-O (I'm guessing the new one), Law & Order SVU and others... Really nice. Keep on keeping on. By the way, seeing how you're in Chicago, do you have any Polish influences in your life? I've never seen Americans use phrases as "resting on laurels" and "kibitz" in the same sentence. :D
Thanks for your message, Tomasz. My family is from Eastern Europe (my closest cousin is a Tomasz as well) so the choice of lingo comes from a virtual worldwide melting pot...I've only scraped the surface of the surface at Stage 32 so trying to find more time to spend there...it's an amazing amalgam of people, ideas, hopes, dreams and opportunity - a little overwhelming but worth the price of admission:) - thanks again for reaching out!
Good morning Dean. Well, it's definitely not our intention to overwhelm anyone, so if you have any suggestions on what could make our website better, we're always open to advice. Indeed, Stage 32 has a lot to offer, but we don't expect everyone to start using everything all at once. Some people are here to meet others, in which case the networking and meetups section is helpful. Others are here to improve their craft so they relay on education. Mostly everyone who reads the blogs finds something helpful in these. By the way, my girlfriend is a composer - main reason why we moved from NYC to LA, so far it's been quite helpful to her career. How are things in Chicago as far as film projects are concerned? Keeping you busy, I hope.
Thank you Von - it certainly is quite a well put-together site - all the best to you as well.
