Introduce Yourself : Kevin Tumlinson, Wordslinger (and enemy of pants) by Kevin Tumlinson

I actually have nothing against pants, per se. They just get a bit clingy. I'm an author, with around 24 books littering the shelves a few truly beautiful readers. I mostly write contemporary speculative fiction—the kind of thing that's hard to slate into scifi or thriller or any other "pure" category, because it has neither lasers nor international intrigue. Unless it does. It sometimes does. While I write books, my wife and I are in Phase 1 of downsizing everything we own, buying an RV, and getting on the road full time. We're planning to see as much of this country as we can, provided we have WiFi. Because no one should be without WiFi. It'll be fun. And possibly harrowing. I'm looking forward to it. I have a background in just about everything. And by that, I mean that I had a really tough time deciding what I wanted to do when I grew up, so I just did all of it. And now I write about it, because a fella's gotta do something with all of those experiences, right? In addition to writing, I'm also the host and co-host of three different podcasts. My show, the Wordslinger Podcast, focuses a lot on 'unconventional careers,' and offers a kind of behind the scenes story about a lot of really amazing people. My other shows are the Self Publishing Answers Podcast and the Creative Writing Career Podcast. Both of these give me a chance to talk about writing as a career, the ins and outs of the trade and the craft, and the people who are making the biggest impact on the whole industry. I love podcasting. It's probably the one thing I'd do full time if writing were suddenly taken off the table. I'm looking forward to getting to know people here, learning more about a few of the industries in which I'm not quite an expert, and generally just growing as a writer and a human. I'm open to chatting about nearly anything, so feel free to make introductions.
