Greetings! My name is Scott Wohlstein, and I started filmmaking in 1978 with a Canon 814 I bought at a pawn shop. After awhile, the zoom ring froze, and so I focussed on stop-motion with a couple stuffed animals as my first actors to learn lighting, shot composition, etc.. Completing my education and other life events kept conspiring to keep me from getting back to shooting. In 2002, I assisted in the start of the Great Lakes Film Festival (Erie, PA), and in 2003, screened my first short film, "Crosst". I created the Run and Gun Competition at Great Lakes Film Festival, where a screenplay selected from a competition was produced and screened at the last night of the festival. From that producing experience became development efforts of some amazing works by some very talented writers. We have produced several shorts, a music video, and some pilot pieces, as well as a number of "development hell" features. Although I am lucky to have served in pretty much every crew position, you will never find me in front of a camera- I have too much respect for the art of acting. I know a great script when I read one, just do not consider myself a writer. I enjoy Producing and Directing because I am blessed to be surrounded by people who are talented, consummate professionals who have my back and vice-versa. We are now in development of a 3-flim slate scheduled for production in 2016. I am always interested in talking/networking with other like-minded people. This is not a solo sport, so say hi when you can. Cheers, Scott
