I don't think SNL hires people in the city for the weekend to perform with them. But I suggest you have your agent contact the casting director as soon as possible. They usually have a table read on Tuesdays.
If you can pull off showing up in NYC and walking onto the set of SNL as a paid feature you should become an agent. Best of luck man, would be cool to see this happen.
