Looking to work or collaborate on an idea.

Hi. I am a 24 years old in Toronto. I am a Videographer (no owned camera, always have to borrow), Video Editor and Producer that really trying to look for a great project to work on with people. I also have this wild idea of creating an media production company that can create original shows and films for Apple TV and other platform like that. I am trying my best to network but having a hard time finding the right places. I would love to find a team and work on this goal.

Jamar, you and I are on the same wavelength! I want to shoot feature length Thrillers for the rest of my life, but it's difficult networking where I am. Wanna dream together? Maybe we'll make a good team!

Lauren McEntyre

Very true! Getting in the right circles is important too. When I was in LA I had much better success because I was living in a hub of the film industry. Thinking of moving back.

If you have a smartphone and any basic editing program, you can shoot a feature. I shot a web series on my iPad with no money, whatdoctortheseries.weebly.com which proves it's not what you have, it's who you are. Are you a filmmaker? Yes. Go do it.

Hey Lauren, Who knows maybe we can make a good team. It is difficult to network and having a hard time but once it together and get a team I should be fine! So yes we can dream together!

My problem Victor is I just don't know where and exactly I can find creatives mind like me where I am which is kinda weird. I am trying to look for networking events and other places where I can meet and network with people but having a hard time. I am happy though I found this website recently.

Jerry Kokich

Jamar, it's not hard to find people to collaborate with; you found three just on this page. They don't need to be in the same city with you. I produced a radio drama and the cast was never all together in the same state at any one time. If you have a story to tell, a short, web series, or even a feature, the only people you need to have in the same physical space are you and your actors, and sometimes, not even that's necessary.

Victor, Why can't you convert to MP3?

Jerry Kokich

Victor, you can render it as a video and put it on YouTube. This was what I did: http://youtu.be/ZVyzHkGn3jo

What about Adobe Media Encoder? I've been pretty successful. http://www.adobe.com/products/media-encoder.html
