Is it okay, or even necessary to mention in a query to a literary management company/agency that another company has already requested the script? Or would this just be another one of those feeble strategies that would only backfire? Just curious . . .

Letting them know there's interest elsewhere makes them more eager -- it's a good idea.
I will definitely keep that in mind, Marc. However, is it necessary to mention the name of the company?

Mentioning the company helps make it real -- and you only say it if it's true. Otherwise, anyone could say there's interest and there's no way to check; it's essentially meaningless.
Alright. Thank you for that insightful and valuable feedback, Marc. The more weapons the better, right? I really appreciate it. Have a blessed one.
