New Screenplay Writer - Putting My Final Touches on My First Screenplay

Thought I would drop in and say hi to everyone! I was born and raised in Hell's Kitchen NYC. I am currently putting the final touches on my first screenplay. Looking to network with others who are in the industry and/or breaking into the industry!!!

Al Hibbert

Have you had anybody look at it yet?

Nina C.

Hi Al! No, I have not been in touch with anyone yet. I am still working on it. I would like to put some feelers out there to see if there is any interest without releasing the entire script. Any suggestions?

Al Hibbert

My writing partner and I have been trying to get our pilot for our TV show called "Eden's Outpost" ready. We've written 2 two seasons worth of scripts. I met a script consultant on this site named Annie McDonald (Annie Mac), and she and her husband, Bob, have made a huge difference in how it reads. And I've learned a lot from her. Before I did that though, I registered it through the Writers Guild of America. Your script is a movie?

Nina C.

Wow, that's a huge undertaking Al!!! I'll keep them in mind. Yes, I definitely want to register the script with the Writers Guild of America. Think it's definitely a good idea. I am also thinking about a copyright as well!!! Yes, my screenplay is a movie. Love/Mystery/Thriller type movie about a woman who is lured to a foreign country by her lover...can't tell you everything :).

Congrats, Nina! Reaching the finish line on a first screenplay (well, any screenplay) is no small feat!

Consider investing on a professional script coverage just to make sure it's perfect before submitting it to producers/companies/studios ;)

Phil Parker

Howdy, Nina! Congrats on your first! Definitely recommend getting a couple of pros to read it and give feedback before you start pitching. Good luck!

Al Hibbert

Sounds great Nina! Keep me posted on the progress if you can .

Richard Skeem

Congrats on your screenplay! I hope it turns out well!
