Introduce Yourself : Hi by Michael J Smyth

Hi everyone, I've been on Stage 32 now for a couple of years but never got around to introducing myself (sorry RB). I live in Northern Ireland and for the last number of years I've been trying to establish myself as an actor. I started out many years ago as an extra when I lived in New York and was fortunate enough to get some work on a few feature films and some advertisements. 1 of the best experiences I ever had was working on Howards Stern's Private Parts, where I got to met an idol, Slash. I returned home and started looking around for work. To my surprise there was a lot going on here that I had no idea about. Obviously everyone knows about this small country now but 15 - 20 years ago it was a lot different when it came to tv and film productions. Most of my early work was as an extra but I've been lucky to meet up with like minded people looking to make their own shorts and features. While I've no formal training I have managed to work on a large variety of productions, from web series to short films, feature films to tv pilots and of course the biggest show on the planet, Game of Thrones. I now need to put all this experience to good use and hopefully start landing bigger roles. New headshots and showreel are on the agenda and I'm looking for an agent to get things moving.
