Greetings: I am struggling with a few names here. My screenplay is set sometime in the future where a large percentage of human population is genetically engineered. There is a particular lab in my story that designs and breeds test tube humans for specific tasks like law enforcement, space exploration, different types of military positions etc. Can any one suggest what such a lab will be called? Nex-Gen Labs is what I am going for. Secondly, a small population of humans is born in outer space and lives abroad massive human made space habitats. These people are an outerspace culture of pilots and space engineers who drift from one planet to the other as space nomads. They work as transporters of goods, carry large cargo from one planet to another and have no allegiance to any "world" or planetary order. They are often pirates and smugglers who raid space ships so that all interspace trade goes through them alone. What should be the name of such a race of transporters, traders, pirates and vagabonds? Thanks so much guys. Whatever comes to your mind! No idea is silly.

Naming something like a genetics lab is a very personal thing, customized to your story world. First of all, does your "future" still have many languages or does everyone speak just one language? The answer to that question may influence which language you use to name the lab: English, Arabic, Spanish, some dialect of Chinese, etc. A lab could be named for the person (or people) who started it, such as Khan Genetics. It might be named for a goal: Gene Perfection. Or the name could come from many other sources: a favorite color, a favorite science fiction author, a great scientist, etc. Likewise, what your space transporters/rogues are called depends a lot on your story world. Are these people admired or reviled? Have they ever had a famous leader or was one of them ever specially feared? Where are their habitats located: the asteroid belt, the Kuiper belt, the Oort Cloud, orbiting Jupiter or Saturn or both, etc.? Their name could come from just about anything. Your story world will tell you what names to use. :-)
