Hello everybody, I'm really interested in learning how to perform a character, so I decided to take drama lessons. The problem is that I only have 2 hours a week, so in my spare time I just take some random texts, learning them and then perform it in front of my camera and watch it. Do you guys (and girls) have any other ideas? I don't know if I'm doing right, but just let me know your thoughts please! Looking forward to your answers!

I know there are some online acting classes that you can take and supposedly get feedback on your performance. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for this tip Tony! I'm gonna check this out!
Hey buddy,I am not that experienced but as a filmmaker instead of trying to perform a character try to make sure you understand why does the character you play does certain things that in the story.Ask the writer or try analyzing some people in your group or who live nearby. It will help you.

Take the Dustin Hoffmann or Kevin Spacey Masterclass. I'm enjoying it as I'm time poor too.
Funny you should say that Rebecca... I was looking into it today. Not sure how you would display it on your cv though, or even if you should.
Thanks a lot for your advice! It will definitely help me!

I'd diffidently be interested in hearing feedback about the Masterclass, biggest concern is will castors take it seriously.

I also find watching YouTube videos about other actors talk about their craft. Though this isn't active all knowledge is helpful. Find a collection of monologues in a book and practise breaking them down. Which it sounds like you are. I should do this a lot more than I currently am :P best of luck.

I am not sure either if we should put the Masterclass in our cv though... But I think it can be helpful to take some. Above all taking acting classes is the best option. Thanks Adam, I try to do my best regarding monologues :) It is the only way I came up with to train myself home so... Fortunately it sounds like I'm on the right track! Keep it up.

I wouldn't put it on your CV, but I'm finding the lessons really good - there are assignments that you have to upload and other classmates rate your work and comment etc, it's really inclusive and good.
That's whats I was thinking, Ive been fortunate to find a local theater company that teaches acting. Sadly its not as regular as I would like so I am considering taking the masterclass to supplement the classes.
