That's kinda like saying doctors are the biggest employers in the medical field, since it all starts with them. No wait...it all starts with the medical schools, the drug companies, and the companies that make medical supplies and instruments. But wait again, it all starts with the construction companies that make the medical schools, hospitals and professional buildings - and the concrete, steel, glass, petrochemical and plastics manufacturers. But wait yet again...all of the elements of those manufacturers start with the earth. Earth is the biggest employer in every field! Writers better stop complaining, or film manufacturers might replace us all with Artificial Intelligence softwares like other industries have been doing.

That's great, Bill! ...Yeah, I thought this article was long-winded, self-serving whining. Lol!
Be interesting to hear your thoughts on Jim Hart's video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xLLQhz6UFI which fed into this article.

Hi Rickardo. I only watched the first 5 minutes or so... I still have trouble with this notion because the industry, the physical making of a film, the raising of the funds to hire employees takes a lot of people to bring it all to fruition. Sure, everything starts on the page, but the "screenwriter" as "the biggest employer" is rather self-aggrandizing and off base. This is a team sport. Lol! :)
