Introduce Yourself : Military Historical consultant by Tim Pickles

After a great 2015 in New Orleans working as military costumer on Free state of Jones and then as military consultant to the costume department (and battle co-ordinator) on Roots I am wondering if the uncertainty about tax credits in Louisiana is going to drive production out of the state. Certainly the project I am currently connected with looks as if it will film out of the country though Louisiana was the original choice. Don't get me wrong I love to travel but I very much enjoy the luxury of working close to home. I have worked training extras, planning battles and historical ceremonial for 30 years but I am sometimes saddened that we 'old timers' are not being replaced, no because the younger generation is not as talented as us, but that they do not have the time to go into the depth of the subject which will give them the quick on set answer which is so often needed while keeping to the period.
