So I used to manage an acting studio in Hollywood. It was a lot of fun and very insightful for me as a writer/director. I still remember this type of exercise from when I sat on a class. Very interesting the places you go with it.

I envy all our actors that are able to do the Meisner technique. I tried work-shopping with one of our friends and I was not a natural actor :(

One of the best vids I've seen on the subject.

That was fascinating to watch, I had my first acting class on Thursday and we did something very similar to that.

Good explanation. I've been doing Meisner for a while now and he pretty much nails the gist of it.
Mark...Curious to hear what you believe to me the most pertinent points?

I did a two day with Sandy Meisner when I was just shifting to film. This is absolutely a great explanation of the basic foundation. It keeps you in present time, with prep and then elevates it. In real time and each take will be different and fresh but your foundation will be there. Thanks RB. XoT

I like meisner. I believe that it one of the best ways to get in the moment an purely respond in any given scene and really know your lines to the point of them simply being natural; your truest response. Excellant explanation. Thanks for the post.
