It’s hard for anyone to really understand why we choose to work in this industry. As I’ve come to understand it for myself as well as others, I think it’s a combination of talent, intuition, and determination with some chutzpah and luck thrown in for good measure. Who is to say what the attraction is in deciding to become a performer, designer, writer, or musician. The same can be said for other professions such as being a doctor, financier, or politician. Although politicians, I have to say, they are a breed unto themselves. I think it is a mixture of some very powerful and defining experiences we go through growing up that substantially contribute in deciding our professional destinations.
