Introduce Yourself : Writer, production, librettist by Geoffreyjen Edwards

Hey there! In my day job I'm a scientist working on cool tech for smart environments. I also write science fiction. Right now with a number of colleagues from several Canadian universities, we are developing a participatory, interactive opera, based on my writing. We have to invent procedures, there are few existing practices. We currently are working to stage one scene, so that we can better understand the interaction design problem - libretto is written, stage design is advanced, music composition completed and we have just worked out choreography. We motion captured the dance sequences and are going to include virtual avatars partially under audience control in the staging. Fascinating project!
