Hi There, I am a TV and film Writer/Producer and I have been a member of Stage 32 for a while. I really love what Richard has done here and I think it brings a lot of value to creatives in the industry. I recently launched a campaign to help creatives out as well. Every since the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, I've been waiting for SOMETHING, ANYTHING to change in terms of minority inclusion in the industry. I am painfully beginning to see that my waiting has been in vain so instead of complaining about it, I've decided to DO something about it. I have launched a gofundme campaign ( https://www.gofundme.com/oscarsnotsowhite) to raise money for minority filmmakers to get their films funded. Sounds like a really good cause, but since the membership is free, I don't put out request for money. I used to do that, but I had so many complaints about it, I've stopped. The purpose of this group is to supply talent to the Houston film industry. In the same vain I've had people ask me to rent their houses or sell their cars and so on and that's not what the group is about.
