I'm hosting an informal table read for a script I'm producing. This is to hear the dialogue read by actors for the first time and also to get feedback about the general story, certain scenes, etc. Other than a simple "What did you think?" what are some questions I should ask after the read is over to get the best information?
Some questions could be "How did you feel about your character?" "What kind of quirks do you see this character have?" "Could this character be a hero or a villain in your eyes and if so how?". So many questions like that I think should be asked if your are doing a read like that.

I give index cards to the main actors and have them write a short paragraph of the characters, likes or dislikes, suggestions.
Before I do table reads, I read the entire script aloud by myself, recording on my iPhone. Then listen to playback. This will answer many questions before you get with a group.

Whatever opinions you get from your actors, be ready to hear their opinions. Some may suggest changin things or adding things, so be ready for that.

Video it for yourself as well as dvd extras. Watch for any parts where the actors seem to struggle and force the character.
