Introduce Yourself : New guy here! Portuguese aspiring Filmmaker. by João Lourenco

Hey everyone, My name is João Lourenço, and I'm from Portugal, Europe. I'm aiming to be a Film Director and Screenwriter as well. I studied General Arts and Media in College and later woke up to the fact that I really really love both seeing and making films (however excruciatingly painful the process). Besides countless projects during my years in college, I have directed a short film called "Good Morning, Sunshine!" that's been a bit all over the place: from the US, to Brazil, Spain, and Europe. In the States, it was even awarded the Best Student Film Award at Blow-Up Chicago International Film Fest 2015. Currently I'm working as a freelance video editor for a advertising company, writing my first feature and working to obtain funding for my next short film. It's going to be my first time shooting on film so I'm extremely excited to be finally making a film (probably going to get in trouble over this one :D)! If anyone has advice, proposals for projects or just really want to talk about some good films, I'm always available for a nice conversation about the world's coolest art form.
