Hey all, I just stumbled on this video, and the guy asserts that the problem with Batman vs. Superman was on over-reliance on "moments" or "spectacle", at the expense of creating a good and coherent scene. I think he's right, and I'd apply this to other movies I've seen recently. What do you think? Worth a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Cy_Qlh7VM
A lot of spoiler alerts in that. I know, I know. I'm late. Interesting, but I can definitely see both sides of that. I think that with the overwhelming number of films available nowadays, people have too much to focus on and too much to remember. Back in the day when people would watch one or two films a month, everything would resonate with them. It made people think and rethink certain scenes and contemplate on why it was done that way and not another way. Now everything's just in and out. You enjoy the film while you watch it and maybe for an hour or two after, but then everything fades away. For that alone, I don't blame Snyder for being greedy and trying to grab the viewer's attention as often as he can.
