Hi, So I was recently invited to a workshop/audition and if Im honest I hadn't heard of it being done this way except for theatre. As it is I couldn't attend due to being booked for a film shoot that day but I am curious to know if others have had any experience with this type of auditioning?

I've been invited to audition for unpaid work. I have also been requested to audition for courses at the school I was studying at. I don't know if that helped.

Some film people come from theatre backgrounds, and they will use this method. It is not common, as it takes a lot of time. Now and then, an indie will do a table read with talent they want and some they are testing out. A workshop suggest they might have been doing two things at once... finding talent, and working the kinks out of the script. But, I have little to go on.
