Introduce Yourself : Starting out by Wayne Reid

The question being posed here is "what's on your mind?". If I took that literally, we 'd be here all night; me writing all of you reading. Maybe. My full name is John Wayne Reid. (Wayne)) My mother still swears the actor had nothing to do with my naming. None-the-less, it did have its upsides during the numerous times I have passed through or traveled to the USA; Customs Officers too busy laughing or making comment to worry too much about me! New Zealand is my home country. Christchurch my home city. I regard myself as being rather fortunate in that I have been able to travel and live in a number of countries. This has given me an extraordinary background of experience - especially with both people and culture. For example, through living in China I learned that the country has three quite differing attitudes - political, tourist and the real China in which people live. No one truly understand China until he/she has lived there. Joining Stage 32 has been an eye-opener in that the number of learning opportunities is wonderful. I have written much over the years - mainly for enjoyment rather than anything to do with a financial gain. Although that would be a major plus. I am current;y working on what will be my first screenplay. During a short spell working in the Bahamas catering for people on a live-on-board holistic experience swimming with dolphins a kernel of an idea was born. The - often unusual - natural events coup-led with the extraordinary people I met is leading to great potential. My writing is as exhilarating as it is frustrating. However, that is the challenge is it not? Time will tell.
