One of my short scripts, One Child Born, won first prize at the DC Shorts Screenplay Competition after the table reading on Friday night. The six finalist scripts chosen by the festival were read before a live audience, and the audience voted to award first place to One Child Born, which is a tale of the Rwandan genocide. Part of the prize is a cash award contingent on finishing the film in time for next year's DC Shorts Film Festival. Nothing like a little pressure to get things going!
