Hi Nick. Perhaps change your notifications settings. Go to the gear icon found in the upper right corner, scroll down to "Notifications," set your preferences, and click "Save." ;)

Great, I hope that helps, Nick. :) The "output" is easily managed... if you set your notifications preferences. Lol! I have mine set to the absolute minimum therefore I only see a few emails a week. So, no, it doesn't seem like much to me. Best to you!
