This is to all those people who have completed a film and are looking for distribution. This is can be a stand alone tool to get if you can't afford to attend markets or add to your search. I'm looking to start a magazine that will be delivered to all of the members of distribution companies free of charge. (print run 50,000). And corresponding website. The way the magazine makes money is the production company buys space in the magazine. It's not insanely expensive space - $1000 for a full page/color. But you could buy as little as 1/10th of a page. Which would be like a banner ad. But the idea is to get your product in front of people either before you contact them, using it as an warm transfer "I was featured in IndieLook, I'd like to set up an appointment." or as you are setting up meetings at Film Markets, or as a stand alone under the pretense that if people are looking for your project - they will contact you. If they don't know about you, then they can't find you. This helps people find you. There is a 'market' in the back for script pitches - and a link to the indielook.com website where they can download your one sheet synopsis - or first ten pages, or such. If a company buys a full page or more they get their own reference in the Table of Contents. If they buy two pages or more - they get mentioned on the cover. And of course you could buy the cover lead-in. Anything a full page or more, and the trailer or screener gets featured on the website. So my question to you is: Would you consider using this magazine to help with the penetration of your movie into the eyeballs of decision makers?
Definetely yes. I'm actually in the middle of contacting distribution companies and I'd love to use a magazine/website like yours to promote.
