Introduce Yourself : This seems like a great place. by Luis Turbides

Hi, I'm still totally new to Stage32. My name is Luis. I have not being doing film for very long, but it is a strong passion of mine to act, write and direct. I did my undergrad at UMass Boston where I majored in theatre art. I spent most of my undergrad career acting in plays as well as writing plays. Before I graduated, I was fortunate enough to write a play that made it into the University's playwright's festival and actually received a full production. After graduating from UMass Boston, I got accepted into Emerson College's MFA in Media Art program. I'm starting to learn more about film and industry, trying to take baby steps towards my goal. At the moment, I am trying to survived putting together my thesis film which is a short post-apocalyptic piece about humanity living below ground due to nuclear winter. I am also in the process of adapting a short film version of my play. This semester I am taking a Business Media class where I'm learning about copy and clearances. I am also taking an Editing class where I will hopefully be Avid certified (currently learning Media Composer). It is a pleasure to be a part of this community and hopefully I can further my knowledge here and make new friends. Personality wise, I tend to be somewhat laid back, quirky, and rather introverted (ironic considering I like to act). If anyone around the Boston area needs an actor, I'd love to help. Oh and if anyone knows of any underground places I might be able to get access to for my post-apocalyptic film, let me know. I'd love to have a location around New England or somewhere around Massachusetts preferably. Thank You!
