Hi all, I have a police related question. I'm writing a story where a cop has a grudge against an ex-con (the cop is not evil, he just has his reasons to be angry...), and he wants to harass him. The ex-con has now become a building contractor and does house repairs. How can the cop annoy him with random inspections, paper work and legal stuff? What can he do legally to make life difficult for the ex-con? Thanks in advance & best regards,
In a subtle way to harass him, the cop could tip off county inspectors, make them pay random visits to the building sites to make sure everything is up to code. If he wanted to become more vindictive, he could have someone mess with the ex-con work environment so that he doesn't pass inspections, gets fines, etc.Mess up his work, make everything unstable, cut wires, misplace equipment, anything to make it seem he's a bad worker and not following the laws.
@Izzibella, Many thanks for these great ideas. I think this will do just fine. @Larnette, Well I don't live in the USA. I tried asking a police lieutenant who is on Stage32 but he didn't answer; maybe he's not an active member. Anyway, thanks everyone and best regards,

read the REAL story below of stuff happening in NYC. I heard that in one case, a landlord put raw fish under floor boards, which stunk so bad that the tenant had to leave. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/05/opinion/sunday/how-to-force-out-rent-c...
