A New Player in Town!!!

New cheeky self-publishing platform came live this week-- Pronoun! Lots of advantages, perks, and all FREE. For now. They're trying to find a way around Amazon and may have figured it out and authors might actually come out on top--too early to tell... but worth checking out. https://pronoun.com/

I'm going to give this a go for my new release and will post back my results. So far, it seems it only lets me track one book, but will retry later.

Well, twenty-four hours on and not much to report. I signed up to reserve my author page and still don't have any confirmation it's been reserved. Book tracking seems to not allow certain books on Amazon to be entered. Doesn't seem to like the URL. The site is very attractive, glossy and seems to function well so far.

David... yeah... I don't have my author page yet either... jury still out for me on this :)

I looked into this more yesterday and decided to go with Smashwords. Mainly because I know the format and process on that site very well and with a release date of this Friday I didn't want to run the risk of something going wrong and having to learn a whole new system and then have to revert to what I knew anyway. There is not much information on the site, that I could find, regarding how to format your book and cover in readiness for submission to their system. The [still] lack of response on the author page is a little worrying also and the fact I could only track certain books from Amazon suggests there are some bugs (not unexpected in a new system) they need to overcome before I give it a go.

One thing that was cool about this site was that there's a link to find out how much other books in your genre sell for - this was really useful as a guide to whether or not my books were priced in the right bracket or not.

Thanks for the updates David, very useful! I currently use Createspace and KDP. Whats the name of your novel that came out today?

The Wretched. :-)
