Introduce Yourself : My Mission by DaJuan Cortés

Hello! My name is Cortés and I am a filmmaker. My favorite part of the filmmaking process is editing, but I don't consider myself purely an editor because every part of the process is such a joy to be a part of. I don't know a whole lot about filmmaking, but I am determined to learn as much as I possibly can. Like all filmmakers, my reason for filmmaking is to tell stories. It began as just wanting to tell the stories of fellow artists and creatives. in fact, I began a channel solely to inspire other artists. I began with v-logs, started a documentary, and did an eight-minute short for a friend about his music and why he loves music. It wasn't long before my motives completely changed. Well, not completely. Of course, the vision and progress of fellow creatives is super important to my filmmaking aspirations, but it goes beyond that; it stretches to all of humanity. I want to tell stories that encourage people and inspire love and peace in this hurting world. Besides that, of course, I also aspire to create fiction shorts, dramatic pieces, all sorts of things. I have a lot of ideas. My biggest problem is I often don't know where to begin. That's always the scary part. I hope in joining this site I meet a lot of awesome people. Not only that, I hope that somewhere along the way I can inspire others, love all people, and work with (as well as grow with and learn with) amazing creatives who challenge me to take my art to the next level.
