Introduce Yourself : Finally Diving In! by Gary A. Jones

Hey, all you cinephiles! New to the platform! Wanted to take a moment and introduce myself a bit, letting everyone know I am excited and eager to dive right into some creative work, while meeting/collaborating with awesome people in the process. First and foremost I am a lover of podcasts, cinema, and tater-tots. Most importantly a lover. Co-host of the UFR Podcast (www.ufrpodcast.com) and a multifaceted storyteller, writer, editor, and director. Most of my films have been screened at festivals across the United States; San Diego Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, Miami Web Festival, Long Beach Indie Fest and the LA Comedy Fest (to name a few) and showcased online at places like Film Shortage and Shorts of the Week. After graduating with an MFA in Screenwriting and Directing from the Academy of Art University, I spent the last few years stumbling around the new media world where I created the award-winning web series pilot Pavement. Starring Juan Riedinger, who won a 2013 Leo Award for Best Performance in a web series. Fancy! However, I am eager to jump into working on more long-form narratives. By day, a teacher, molding the minds of future cinephiles and storytellers on the art and craft of cutting films and short format storytelling. By night, a husband, podcaster, collaborator, and all around creative. Ultimately, my hope is to use this site for networking and collaborating, with the focus on sharpening my skills and having a few beers and laughs while on the journey.
