Although I've been on Stage 32 since 2011, I have never properly introduced myself. I am an independent filmmaker dedicated to creating unique works that challenge and inspire. Themes that interest me most are alienation, asceticism, history, spirituality, and the human condition. Although I reject generalized classification of films since I typically blur genres in my own work, I do agree with the remodernist call for the return of emotional and spiritual meaning in cinema. Our most recent film, Upon This Rock, is a short documentary shot in a contemplative style about a monastery in the Republic of Georgia that sits below a one hundred thirty foot limestone monolith upon which one of the brethren hopes to live as the first stylite there in six hundred years. It is the prologue to a feature length creative documentary that we are currently developing. Upon This Rock is available on Amazon Prime, IndieFlix, Vimeo On Demand or it can be streamed directly from the official website. Wishing all of you the best of luck in 2017.
An oldie, but a newbie! Glad you stepped out into the sunshine, Stephen. Clearly you have much to offer this community. Hope to see you contributing and posting content to the Lounge whenever possible. Love your energy and spirit!
