I know this sounds simple and really I've never before put this practice in use until recently. Not only was it fun, it was one of the best learning experiences I've ever experienced. Have you ever tried to follow along or read a screenplay slightly ahead while watching the movie directed and produced from it? I gave this a go with Hail, Caesar recently and what I found was my mind spinning not only realizing when they nailed the script to when they could have done things differently that was visually interpreted by me. This doesn't mean as one of writer's mind was more right or wrong than that of expected (Not unexpected) visual audience it just means and made me realize scripts that are really good where the screenwriter nails it are still open for interpretation of the visual. So I guess our job as writer's is too realize we can only narrow the visual being the best we can be. Why this was a great learning experience is because detail only has limited weight but story carries the movie above our most intimate detail giving that "Big Picture": the "Big Picture."

I think this is one of the best exercises you can do as an actor -- keep doing it!
