DISCLAIMER: I'm a rookie screenwriter providing insight to the less experienced. That's all. Simply sharing my experience, my playbook, on how I build features.... Next on the PreWrite Material Agenda is the Beat Sheet. I call this Hollywood Structure. The only two beats on the sheet that I know won't change are the opening and closing beats. Those two beats and the premise must stay the same. These beats determine how I will write the rest of the story. Feel free to post questions. Always here for you. The Hero Sequencing Paradigm is up next....

My favorite beat in the whole movie is the ALL IS LOST beat. I was thinkin', who's gonna die here to push this thing into overdrive? After staring at the board, I was like, THAT'S IT! IPHY, our lead, declares the money is gone! The lottery Money dies here. At this moment everyone in the story flips. I think it's a super cool beat for the premise. Anyway, hope this helps in writing your feature.

I just wrote an "all is lost" beat in my current story. A real crappy predicament peppered with foreshadowing.

I Love Save The Cat! It's like a handy "Bible" for screenwriters!

I had to go back and read through your #1 and #2. Thanks, Shawn. This is helpful!

I am going to enjoy watching the journey. I can't contribute as this isn't how I write. I am not a beat sheet type person. Please keep posting, it is going to be like a slow release documentary.
