We are making a movie and need your help to get it done. Much of the material cost of making the movie will come out of pocket, but we are asking for help in financing specific areas of the production, including paying the cast and crew for their time and effort, acquiring a camera, and purchasing costumes.

I know you're asking, "Why should I contribute to this crowdfunder?" Well, first of all, it's Shakespeare, so really, you can't go wrong. Second, we have great perks, including a limited number of personalized Monolograms from our actors at the $25 level, wherein you choose which actor you want to read and which of Shakespeare's monologues (doesn't have to be from Romeo & Juliet), and you get a one-of-a-kind piece of performance art just for you.
Which is really what it's ultimately about. Art.
In the history of the world, leaders come and go; wars rage; society changes; but art endures. Look at this piece. Romeo & Juliet has been around for hundreds of years and has probably been performed millions of times around the world, in any number of different ways. It's classic. It's beloved. And it's still got a lot to say about the world we live in. Especially in our production, starring predominantly women and people of color.
This movie is a labor of love. We are proud of the work we are already doing in pre-production. And we could not be more excited to bring this story to you in a new way.
