Hi everyone. We are currently funding a romantic drama for next year. When it comes to fantasy do not worry about how you do, because fantasy and films are so much an idiosyncratic thing for the reader. However, I do fine description rules for fantasy films need to be relaxed because this genre needs more direction than any other. When dealing with the everyday world we are all speaking the same language except for our plot on the historic timeline and cultural differences. With fantasy which can also creep into Sci Fi and horror films explaining the impossible needs qualification. Have also started writing historic dramas people of a certain age do not understand the past is a foreign country, with its own customs. When one enters the distant past no one alive can grasp what a well researched writer has put on the page.
The recent revival of westerns is laughable. You hardly see an immigrant or the mechanics of how the society works. I am sure they are adverts for the gun lobby. Only when tackling witch trails does one ever feel the setting morality is different, yet you never see widespread white slavery issues in America. These are all apple pie movies with a home spun ethos. By just changing people's clothes and the scene settings does not explain the issues of the day and treats audiences as idiots.
