Your Stage : Ever using real musicians on soundtracks? by Ivan Palomares

Ever using real musicians on soundtracks?

Hi everybody! I would like to start a little survey among producers and filmmakers here! How often do you usually employ real musicians on your projects?

Here's a piece recorded at Warner Bros + 65 piece orchestra + the most awesome musicians in LA... wouldn't hurt a film, would it? :P

Hope we composers can convince filmmakers into using more real musicians! OBVIOUSLY, no need to always have a 65 orchestra...specially on Indie films, I've done a lot and 60% of the time a big orchestra is not needed! But I guarantee adding even 1-2 musicians can bring a huge added value to it!

Wondering what's the common idea behind recorded scores around here ;)

Hope you'll enjoy the piece, too!

Best,

Ivan

Hi Ivan! Nice piece and amazing musicians here. :) Thanks for sharing. And you are absolutely right about using live musicians, even having a couple of live solo instruments is just enough very often. When you don't go full electronics, of course.

Thank you Vladislav! Hope we can convince more producers to go live! Unless on full electronics indeed, very fun to do as well...
