Aside from John Williams (of course he's a favorite), No one has ever moved me more than Hans Zimmer, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. Although, most would probably not consider Trent to be a "Film Composer" he's done some great work on lots of films
yes, Tom Waits.. I agree.. and james horner.. But the greats are also Sondheim and Rogers and Hammerstein because without the broadway standards you do not have a base. my thinking
I worked in film music for a music supervisor and I got the chance to see it from the other side. I need to learn how to learn time coding and editing.. I know I can on my Mac, but does anyone have a suggestion for an online class in composing for technical
slow people. The linear does not work well for me. I know Berelee has a class perhaps. I do not want to take a class. I would like instructions and practice. I write the scores songs, but I would like to be putting it to the picture.

One from the heart was a great score.. Tom Waits. I sing Take me home all the time when I perform.. broken bicycles too.
