I'm probably just dense, but (in the pitch write-up) what does it mean when someone says: "Specializes In All Genres of Features and TV, except ... heavy dramas" What is heavy, compared to just plain "drama?" It's not a term with an obvious definition in my experience.

I would say topics which have huge consequences for the characters and fell depressing. No light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps a character that is trying for a better life but society says no. Try as she might, she goes backwards.

Heavy drama = lots of kleenex. Characters dying, sad stories.
Dying Young, Terms of Endearment, Ordinary People, Philadelphia, Manchester By the Sea.
What Dan MaxXx said.
So, I'm concluding that "heavy" drama amounts to drama with a very unhappy ending, more or less. Thanks all for the enlightening and / or amusing comments!
