Introduce Yourself : What's your why? by Jake Beyer

Hi, I'm Jake Beyer, and among many things I love to make films, as does most of everyone here. Currently I'm looking to earn my BFA in Directing from Temple U. I'm from the suburbs of Philadelphia, in the heart of Rocky Balboa, but I grew up watching Top Gun, Goodfellas and Batman. I look up to Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese. I write and direct, but mainly I just like the creative process and would love to connect with others that enjoy this as much as I do. My why--I want to create a film that has the ability to slow down life, which is at the core of what films are and why they are so popular. Just as Bruce Wayne said, "As a man, I'm flesh and blood, I can be ignored, I can be destroyed; but as a symbol... as a symbol I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting".
