Animation : Tad & Chad. by Cindy Brown

Cindy Brown

Tad & Chad.

I am interested in doing an animation of my children's book. Need input from professionals on how to start the process.

Jeff Bird

interested in a composer for the music? I am looking for a new project!

Gary Smiley

Have you looked into Harmony? It's for animation.

Jeff Bird

No I'm not familiar with that. Is it on this site or is it another site? Thank you

Gary Smiley

Hi Jeffrey, my comment was about animation and meant for Cindy. Not a problem and I'm glad to talk to you. It's very sophisticated animation software, found at toonboom (com) and you can use it free for a short time. (most programs, ie South Park use it, I believe)

Jeff Bird

Oh ok thank you!

Gary Smiley

Sent a network request? Nice to talk, best to you

Jeff Bird

Thanks I accepted! Nice to talk to you too! If you know any film maker who needs an original score... Let me know!

Looks like a nice book. I think the best way is to start with a script and a storyboard. From there you can seek out animators or try it yourself with software. I tried flash myself, but in the end I turned to someone with extensive 3d experience and that worked a lot easier :)

Gary Smiley

Hi Raymond, was the 3d done in Flash? I think for most things 2d is enough. Anyway, I don't think Cindy responds to any of these posts. Cindy, hello?

Raymond Zachariasse

Gary, no I did it in 2d. I tried 3d myself eons ago. It’s probably something I can teach myself again, but I have so many things I can and need to do. So for now I will focus on writing, illustrating stories and eventually directing and organizing things. I hope to meet people I can work with.

Gary Smiley

Hi Raymond, I'm into OpenToonz. It's 2d, open-source. Has a big learning curve though. But everything can be done on one computer so I like that.

Raymond Zachariasse

Gary, thanks for the OpenToonz suggestion. It looks pretty cool.

Gary Smiley

Very good Raymond. You will have to watch tutorials - youtube - as the manual is hard to understand; incomplete. Nice to meet on this forum - best.
