Do you guys sleep on a good story? Because I tried sleeping on one and just wrote the idea down so I could start writing the next day. But it wasn’t the same. How about you guys?
At year 12 in screenwriting, I think loglines. Easy to remember and good ideas have staying power. I pitch loglines at Walmart before I write a sentence of the script.
If you have that passion for the story - you should get to it. Give yourself a set schedule - it really does work, even if it's only one hour a day. And, STICK to it. Also, keep writing and saving notes in between your screenplay sessions. Live it. Breathe it. DO IT! ;) GOD BLESS and STAY FRESH! ;) ;)
I get my best ideas in the shower after writing. And I do almost all my writing in the morning. Sometimes, I will start thinking about it after I hit the snooze while my mind is still in twilight sleep.

James Goodwin right? Now, I don't sleep on good stories. No matter how knackered I get the morning after.

Stuff has been fermenting for a decade now, lol. I hope a story ages as well as fine wine

Thank you guys. At least I know I'm not alone when I have less sleep over an idea.

Never sleep on anything. It the idea seems great, get up, make coffee and start writing.

I write the idea down as soon as I can.
I've learned that I will either forget the majority of details, or it's suddenly won't seem important to me.
I did this recently with an idea I had, but didn't have until this week to dive into it. I was so grateful for my notes!

I was writing my screenplay. I got an idea on it in the middle of the night in dreams. I woke up and started working on it.
