Screenwriting : Are you moods affecting your screenwriting work? by Phillip E. Hardy, "The Real Deal"

Are you moods affecting your screenwriting work?

I definitely let moods influence my writing. This has manifested itself in dark comedies I write where I really let my meaner side act out in the stories.

How do your moods or mental outlook affect you and your writing?

Doug Nelson

Yes Phill - they certainly do.

Larry McLeod

Wouldn't have it any other way!

Raymond Zachariasse

Yes, they do. In fact I listen to a lot of soundtracks to get the same effect. So Bourne for action, Harry Potter for fantasy and my own "I-cannot-write" mood for when my characters need to do silly things :)

Raymond J. Negron

Today, I cannot keep the basics down. Basically, I cannot keep my ass in my seat. I pumped out 3 pages and 2 pages of notes of possible directions to flow. I may go to the gym and CRUSH some kettle bells into granular bits. Nothing like blood, sweat and tears to influence the writing.
