Hello everyone! My name is Erkin. Thank you for adding me. I want to thank all of you for sharing this great informative stuff. I am an actor (I have been taking acting classes since 15 years old. Now I am 20) from Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia) non-English speaking country, but I do! That being said
Learn How To Act.
Before you do ANYTHING else.
Get into tons of acting classes (scene study, on-camera acting, and improv)
2. Get PROFESSIONAL headshots.
3. Create Acting profiles on these 3 legit online casting sites: actors access, casting networks, and backstage.
4. Record an HD clip of a monologue or short scene using good lighting, good sound in front of a blank wall. HERE ARE 2 EXAMPLES:
Scene: https://pro.imdb.com/videoproembed/vi3502546201?ref_=nm_vid
Monologue: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j_YqBhpDm78
5. Upload your clip (s) to your online profiles and to You Tube.
6. Create a pro looking resume (see attached photo for example)
7. Submit yourself DAILY on those 3 casting sites.
8. Book a 5-10 short films, student films, and webseries.
9. Add your bookings and acting classes to your resume as you go.
10. Put together a 1-2 minute demo reel from your clips.(thanks for it)
I am determined to do all of these things right away! But I have been meaning to ask one thing. What if I do all of these things and somebody wants to work with me. Obviously I need to be in L.A. to start work.( Now I am in Kyrgyzstan) How much money I need to have(approximately) to do all these stuff, I mean (Visa, relocation to USA and etc.) It would be great if you answer me on it a bit. Thanks!

Erkin, to answer your question, just move to LA or NY and figure it out. There is no magic recipe. I was fortunate enough to be born in the US and I still moved to LA with only $100 to my name. The most important thing is knowing who you are and stay true to that. I wish you all the best. If you ever make it out to LA, hit me up. I’ll grab lunch with you.

Hi Erkin - I collected a number of resources that speak on that topic. Some mention actual amounts, but things may vary as you see, with Ryan having only $100, it goes against all odds. I recommend that you develop your strategy first and just make the move when you're ready. Here are the articles, many of which are on this site:

Also, going to LA on holiday isn‘t easy for Eurasians. Moving there is quite difficult, indeed! The bureaucracy alone is difficult and expensive. I agree with Tomasz! Plan first, then act! (Pun intended)
Get here with a thousand to spare maybe, and meet people and see what happens. Risk!
