Hello, Stage 32 Community! I am a former independent sci-fi and fantasy novelist who always tinkered with the idea of becoming a screenwriter, but I had a thousand and one excuses to constantly put it off. Having become frustrated and disenfranchised with trying to break through in the publishing industry, I finally decided it was time to make my move. Over the past nine months, the television pilot for my second novel, Miles Away: Time Crisis Saga, has garnered more praise and interest from producers and executives than I ever received from book publishers or agents in nearly a decade of queries. Now following the advice of those television industry professionals, I am converting that pilot into a feature screenplay along with my first novel, Fenicus Flint and the Dragons of Berathor. I am likewise working on a pilot for a wild animated television series that I hope to pitch to animation studios over the next few years. With over thirty fleshed out story ideas waiting in my bag of tricks, I am looking for my breakthrough moment to bring my stories to the masses.

Good luck, Chris! Having that initial IP you created by writing the book in invaluable. If I weren't so lazy I would try to turn my screenplays into books to create what you have.
Michael, it totally is. It has allowed me to write the screenplay treatments rather quickly. However, they do require a lot of trimming to fit the 120 pg. industry standard/limit for a feature of two hours.
