Screenwriting : How can I describe this character's abilities?:( by Victor Titimas

How can I describe this character's abilities?:(

I just had an idea for a villain. It's an alien cyborg who can look as any other species...

When it comes into contact with humans, I imagined him switching genders(it is both male and female, alternatively)...

How can I describe this skill from the beginning, without mentioning everytime it switches looks?:) Sorry if it's a stupid question:(

Dan MaxXx

Go read X-Men scripts. There's a villain (Jenn Lawrence's character) who shape changes. Steal off the pages.

Doug Nelson

Don't describe...show.

Kerry Douglas Dye

Yeah, what Doug said. You don't need a word for it, unless it's a word being wielded by your characters. "Jane, I have the DNA report! The being is composed of a mimetic polyalloy, blah blah blah!"

Otherwise, when you want to show it on screen, you'll describe it:

Cyborgia's skin starts to vibrate. Bulges form under her skin -- her face is transmogrifying, the shape quickly becoming clear. She looks like Jane!

Then next time it happens you can keep it shorter:

Cyborgia grab's Pete's face. Her skin begins to vibrate and... SHLORP! She's transformed into Pete's perfect doppelganger, Tweety Bird tattoo and all.

Anne Devina Reeve

I would show the character for what it is .....turn sideways and change form with a hand gesture from shoulder to arm extended.....holding a specified prop ...
