Hello everyone, I made a short film, “Mirrorcide” that is currently in the festival circuit. It won 16 awards and I’m still waiting to hear more news. Does someone know the best distributors or how can I distribute it?
Mara, You do have some options: I believe James is right regarding Distribber. There's also a company called IndieFlix. Just go to www.indieflix.com for some information. They approached me several years back for one of mine. I believe there's a cable network in Canada - with an online channel - called Movieola. And, you can always go the DIY route. If you have no names in your short and didn't qualify for the Oscars, you can still cut a deal with Amazon, although they'll want to make it free for Prime members (and regular Amazon members can download it for $1.99, though most people have Prime these days), though it can be great exposure and serve to advertise your DVD or BLU-RAY, which you can print MOD at zero cost to you at createspace, which is also owned by Amazon, as is IMDb. If you have a trailer some Special Features, you can put these out and possibly even make a buck. Look into all those and Break Legs! GOD BLESS and STAY FRESH! ;)
Thank you so much Sam Borowski! This was really helpful, I’ll try all of these. Amazon is a great option. Good luck in everything you do! All the best & hugs,
Mara, You should also check out my BLOG on a short film I recently produced with Daniel Roebuck of LOST, Matlock and Getting Grace. You can find the BLOG here on Stage 32. Would love it if you'd leave a comment underneath the BLOG after you've read it, sharing your thoughts. BLOG IS HERE: https://www.stage32.com/blog/A-Hollywood-Story-You-Can't-Make-Up
https://shorts.tv/ distributes the Oscar shorts every year and once upon a time were the ONLY way for a short to get on iTunes. I've made a decent chunk of change w/ them over the years on a couple shorts but they are a tad slow in their pay cycles. (you do get it eventually:)

I think Distribber handles short films but don't hold me to that!
