I have a "Time's Up"-themed script in which a young woman has to deal with exploitive behavior when she gets a bit role in a movie with a famous comedian. Does anyone think this might be a good idea, bad idea?
I think it's an interesting theme that could be developed into a very powerful short film. The reason I say 'short' is that they can really focus intensely on single themed concepts. I've been looking around for another project and I like your idea - so I may steal it. Thanx
Willem - "Living in Oblivion" looks interesting, although it's focused on the film-making, whereas my script deals with an outsider's view of the exploitive attitude of the entertainment industry.
My writing partner and I are creating a series called "OutSkirts" that touches on this. I think you write what comes to your heart and you trust it.
LOGLINE: After an accused Hollywood predator is rejected from LA, he retreats to the outskirts of Syracuse to launch an app that repairs damaged reputations just like his. His attempt backfires when an accuser converges on the company with hell-fire and fury, and some serious plans to take it down.
I really love the title as well, Doug. And I don't think this sounds like a bad idea at all. It sounds quite interesting and pulls me in, be sure to let me know if you decide to go forward with it, would love to see the finished product, Richard!
Hope was fading for the Time's Up script with no interest shown by anyone, but now a glimmer of hope has sparked up with a read request from Zero Gravity Management. Maybe the concept's not as much of a dud as I was starting to think it was.
Dan M - I queried about 20 places and got one read request from ZGM, whom I know don't accept everything because I've queried them with five other projects without getting a request for any of those.
I've taken the plunge by spending money I don't have to publish my "Time's Up" logline in Ink Tip Magazine. I've done so with the lowest of expectations, but I feel that I have little other choice if I want to have any hope of finding that one person out there who really does believe that it's time for a Time's Up movie.

Doug - I'd be happy to have the idea stolen if the alternative is having it ignored.

Looks like Sam Borowski is leading the Time's Up charge. I'll be interested to see the film when it's released.

ZG accepts everything through their website. Did you send directly to a Rep? How many people did you show? A good data size is 20 to 30 people.
