Soul's Calling - Would YOU follow it?

Hello Stage32 Family!

What I've learned about life is that the moment you get comfortable, the universe likes to stir things up. Never fails. So here I find myself in yet another period of transformation and absolutely no idea where I'm gonna end up. However, I do know it will be precisely where I'm supposed to be. Again, never fails.

So, let me introduce myself. I'm Cali - bestselling author, award winning photographer and filmmaker. My BIG dream is to start my own production company to collaborate with and support other creatives in sharing our stories with the world. I live in LA, but beginning to think I don't really belong here. There are things about LA I absolutely love and there's always so much going on. Yet, my soul craves for something different.

I lived on Coronado Island (San Diego) for a while and absolutely loved it, and thinking of heading back, sooner than later. I just really need to find WORK ASAP!

I've published 9 bestselling books and have 16 more in my head. I also working to adapt some to film which has become as fascinating learning process.

I recently launched a blog entitled CALI'S CHRONICLES - Women in Film where I feature amazing women in the industry and provide information for the aspiring and emerging filmmaker.

Stage32 for me has been such a huge help the last four years as I transitioned into filmmaking and there are so many resources out there. It just takes time and effort.

If I can support YOU in any way, please feel free to ask. I'm all about cheering others on as we share our gifts with the world.

In September, 2014 after attending the Lady Filmmakers Film Festival here in LA, I caught the filmmaking bug and decided this was the next chapter in my journey as a writer and artist. I love to...

Thanks for cheering! Right back at you!

Cali, You wrote a very nice comment on my recent BLOG. One of the people I highlighted was my protégé Taylor Salotti, also a Stage 32 member. As you know, she recently made her directorial debut with In This Moment, the short film I BLOGGED about starring Daniel Roebuck of LOST, Matlock, Getting Grace and The Fugitive. She also helped me produce Time's Up, another short that recently won Audience Choice Award at last week's Northeast Film Festival. In addition, she was Nominated for Best Unproduced Screenplay for her feature, The Thinning. You should feature her in an upcoming CALI'S CHRONICLES. She'd be an excellent candidate for that. And, I believe, even at her young age, she can give you insight into her journey as a female filmmaker. GOD BLESS and STAY FRESH! <3

Oh thanks Sam. Yes, Taylor would make a great addition and I'm sure her story will inspire many. I'll definitely reach out. Thanks again.

I'm impressed, Cali. Really. YOU GOT TALENT! Kudos.

Out of the struggles and uncertainty of life can come some of the greatest of experiences, wisdom, and insight. I just finished reading L.A. Requiem, by Robert Crais… an interesting crime thriller about... crime in L.A. your neck of the woods. Frankly, that traffic in Atlanta scares me a little, and I went to college there.

I'm kind of a "country boy" myself (perhaps your next destination are the mountains of East Tennessee - my area, lol). I am a screenwriter with zero credits currently, but enjoy the process of writing and connecting. I am a retired teacher and RN, and have just finished a crime thriller myself with a female lead, so I know you could appreciate that. The women in my life (my wife and two daughters and two of my three grandkids) are all psychologically stronger than myself.. so I "catch their wind" into my sails to keep me on track. I'll check out your post, and would love to make a connection with you on Stage 32.

Best regards,

Ed

Many thanks Ed. Actually I'm staying in SoCal as I'm also a mermaid, just not in L.A. All the best to you and your projects.

Hi Cali, Great dreams, you mentioned some of mine in there. I wish you all the luck and maybe we can collaborate sometime soon. Have a great Sunday.

Cali Gilbert

Many thanks Eliza. Wish you the best as well.
