Introduce Yourself : Writer/Producer out of New York by Joe Verrastro

Hi All

My name is Joe Verrastro, I'm 23 years old and I've been working in the industry for a little over 3 years now. I dropped out of college after my sophomore year, and a few months later I was fortunate enough to work on my first feature as a casting associate/assistant to the producer. Since then I've optioned 5 scripts and worked on the production or development of over 10 features as a producer, associate producer, script consultant, script doctor, production coordinator, UPM and writer.

I'm looking to connect with other writers and filmmakers and expand my network, as well as get involved with some different projects outside of my usual bubble. I'm a self-taught writer and didn't go to film school, so I never got the chance to be a part of a larger community of people in the industry, and I'm excited at the possibility of connecting with such a diverse group of artists.
