I think Burton's Hamlet is as good as anyone's and is a great performance for an actor to watch. Lots of layers, use of the psychological gesture, economy of movement and it falls in line with my interpretation of Hamlet, which, similar to Mel Gibson's, moves him back and forth on the continuum sanity/insanity rather than making it an either/or proposition.
