I have decided to start a production company to produce the screenplays that I have written. I had a successful event planning company before so I am not a stranger to starting a business. But if you can give any advice, that will help much. Thanks.

Its like any other business. The key is developing your product . I would not form a production company until you are either officially ready to raise money or going to self finance the production yourself. It can easily take 3-5 years , even longer, to raise funding for a movie.
